The burn ban for today (Wednesday March 16) has been cancelled at this time as the gusty wind conditions have begun to subside and relative humidity (RH) values are increasing. The National Weather Service has forecast moderate wind and relative humidity conditions through Tuesday of next week. Winds of 5-10 MPH are expected with RH values near or above 40%. Wind gusts around 20 MPH are expected on Saturday from around 11 am until about 5 pm. Beyond that, no other gusty periods are in the current forecast. This should create favorable prescribed burning conditions for the next several days in a row.

Please remember you are required to notify the Linn County Sheriff\'s Office Dispatch Center [913) 795-2665] prior to burning and again when your burn is completed. Failure to do so may result in a $250 fine.

Please remember to sign up for the IRIS call notification system located under the citizens assistance tab on this website. Call our office if you need assistance in signing up.
